B.A.B.E. of Brooklyn is a beloved brand and barbershop. But the original babe?

That’s co-founder’s mom, a licensed cosmetologist. Mrs. Gracie Allen began doing hair in the 1960s in her Crown Heights house and a local salon (her late husband was a Navy seaman who served several wars before making Brooklyn his home in the 1940’s.

With 1,000 hours of training in specialities such as marcelling, iron curling, permanent waving, bleaches, hygiene and anatomy, she was well prepared to coif her clients.

Summer Events in BK. 2024

“Things get better over time”. Well, in some instances. After a successful brand event with Todd Snyder NY in the Winter 2023. We circled back for Father’s Day weekend, summer fragrance launch at TS. A grooming event that was designed to showcase the talented (hairstylist) that are settling into the neighborhood and working with our company. Thanks to everyone who came out and spent time with us. We look forward to seeing you at the official fragrance launch this Fall/Winter 2024, and stay tuned for the business series and Verizon Course: Promote growth and resilience w/hybrid commerce. Documented series filmed at our shop on 7/14 with the team.

New this Winter/Spring 2025. East Coast meets West Coast in the middle. St. Louis retail/barbershop merger that brings two families together. We will start sharing images of the design, and provide specifics, including launch date(s), product releases and networking opportunities. Looking forward to seeing you in a historic space that was originally configured as a barbershop 100 yrs ago.

(Scented Map) tells an Olfactory story that dates back to the 1940’s Brooklyn. Our unique approach to grooming pays tribute to the traditions of the Barbershop of the past, and quickly moves us into modern day B.A.B.E. of Brooklyn which is focused on forward movement only. We have hosted two events with TSNY thus far in our shared space (The Old Mill Building) located at 85 No. 3rd and Wythe. Neighborhood and home to some NYC most iconic institutions such as KaiD Utility, Aesop, RRL, Apple, JCrew, Hermes, Chanel, Beer Garden and steps away from one of the most picturesque views of Manhattan via Brooklyn. East River
